Why choose us

Urban reliability

Local staging trims delays. Familiarity prevents mishaps. Courtesy meets productivity. We log every action for liability clarity.

Safety is the core metric. We undo windrows without drama. Professionalism you can feel.

Process

Exact steps, every storm

Pre-scan the block, place cones, flag hydrants, then plow and shovel in sync. Apply melt at entries, ramps, curb cuts, and bike lanes with calibrated spreaders. Compliance is part of the finish. Proof closes the loop.

If bands linger, loops shorten. Refreeze patrol keeps you protected. Storms become routine.

Safety

Pedestrian-first

Crowded sidewalks demand disciplined crews. Visibility saves time and injuries. Surfaces stay beautiful. Melt choices match surface temps, preventing slick film on polished stone.

Hazards get respect. No slush, no surprise ice. Safety checklists ride with every crew leader.

Equipment

Sized for the city

Compact plows fit alleys, micro-loaders move piles without blocking lanes, and walk-behind spreaders hug tight sidewalks. Backup rigs sit nearby so a breakdown never pauses your service. Awareness prevents damage.

We fuel and stage in garages and lots across Lewiston, Maine so crews roll fast. Maintenance happens before storms so uptime stays near 100 percent.

Weather strategy

Intelligence-led timing

We watch radar, pavement temps, wind shifts, and refreeze risk to time passes so slush never hardens. Pre-treat before glaze, plow before compression, re-treat before nightfall. Shaded canyons between buildings and bridge decks over rail lines get extra care.

Commuter surges, lunch crowds, and nightlife each get a tailored schedule. If freezing rain swaps to snow, we pivot melt types instantly. Preparedness keeps momentum.

Communication

Updates without friction

We coordinate with events and markets to keep vendor access clean. Standing water does not get a chance to refreeze. Public trust rises when snow is handled smoothly.

The Lewiston area traces its roots to 1669 with the early presence of the Androscoggin tribe (the namesake of the county in which the city resides). In the late 18th century, in 1795, Lewiston was incorporated as Lewistown. The presence of the Androscoggin River and Lewistown Falls made the town an attractive area for manufacturing and hydro-power businesses. The rise of Boston rail and textile tycoon Benjamin Bates saw rapid economic growth rivaling that of Cambridge, Worcester, and Concord. Irish immigrants were recruited to build the railroad links and dig the canals for the textile mills. The Irish stayed, and worked the mills and established flourishing businesses, as evidenced by the McGillicuddy, Callahan, and other Blocks and the St.Joseph's and St.Patrick's churches. In the 1850 Census Lewiston was fully 23% Irish born. The increase in economic stimulus prompted thousands of Quebecers to migrate, causing a population boom; the populace rose from 1,801 in 1840 to 21,701 in 1890. In 1855, local preacher Oren Burbank Cheney founded the Maine State Seminary, the first coeducational university in New England and one of the first universities to admit black students before the Emancipation Proclamation. Lewistown quickly became associated with the liberal arts and was incorporated as "Lewiston" in 1864, a year before the college was chartered as Bates College.
